About

I am interested in how objectification and exclusion from mainstream society can give license to chart other ways of being and strategies of resistance: how a classification as Other allows a freedom to develop a language of difference and form unlikely alliances.

Collaborative and collective working, participation, and giving voice are fundamental to my practice. I use a range of tools and media including still and moving image, voice, sound and the written word. I am interested in the physicality of our encounter with sound; in the non-linear nature of time, and in place as an amalgam of metaphor and context, with its pull on what we can know and who we can be.

I have exhibited nationally and internationally. My work is regularly included in group shows, screened, broadcast or published. I was lead artist for the 2018-19 Artquest Lifeboat group residency, and was part of Castlefield Gallery’s 2020 bOlder talent development programme. I have been a member of Lux Critical Forum 2022-3. I am an active working group member of the Feminist Duration Reading Group, one of many collective endeavours that have influenced my practice.
